INSPIRATION

If we could interact with wearables with more natural gestures, what kind of interaction could we have? Could we use the Zebra Finch a design mentor for us to learn from?

DEEP PRINCIPLE

Exposure to mature birds earlier in life inspired adolescents to finish construction as much as four times faster than those without access to quality time with adults.

The mother is live-sharing her secret recipe with the remote daughter.

The wristband detects the measurement reading and sends it across.

The daughter receives the readings and the wristband helps to tell if she got the right measurement

DESIGN PRINCIPLE

We want our design to allow people to use more natural, intuitive gestures to learn.

PROCESS

Our first attempt was an interaction that is already an age old way to measure rice in Asia. Traditionally, one would use the palm of their hand to estimate the weight of rice with incredible accuracy. This relies on a feeling of just right and is perfected typically by mothers and grandmothers. It is not about having a clinical precision, but a feeling, it can be different every time, but will be in a typical ballpark of good.

How would the relationship between us and the rice change if a wrist wearable helped us with the mothers / grandmothers accuracy of that rice measurement? As if learning live from them?
